Ian Clarke is an exciting player, composer, and teacher who has pursued dual paths in the 'classical' and more 'commercial'spheres of music. He has worked on numerous commissions for film and television, and has made contributions to over six library albums featuring many flute pieces often experimenting with modern techniques. He is becoming increasingly recognized as an exponent of contemporary flute playing and composition and is regularly asked to give performances and lecture recitals.

Clarke's compositions range from the humorous to the ethereal and from the sight readable to the definitely unsightreadable often employing an array of contemporary techniques which he manages to combine in a uniquely accessible manner.
