Alberto Martínez was born in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain ) the 14 of August, 1968.

Musical diplomas are as follows:

He studied composition with the Profesors Mr. Xavier Zoghbi , Mr. Daniel Roca and Mr. Juan José Falcón Sanabria in the Conservatory of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and also composed pop songs.

He studied flute with profesors Mr Pedro de Armas and Mrs Charina Quintana. He received seminar classes of Mr. Jaime Martin, solo flute of Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and studied in the Jazz Aula of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the profesors Mr. Luis Vecchio and Mr . José Carlos Diaz .

He was profesor of a bassical Jazz harmony course called " Panorama for musical beginers " of the Aula of Music , organized by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . He was profesor of a Harmony course in the Music School of the island of La Palma ; member of SGAE (Spanish society of authors) and Promuscan ( Society for the promotion of music . Promuscan have members related to composition, performing, managers and critics.) Promuscan had organized concerts/classes with the Maestros Pierre Boulez, Hans Werner Henze , Anton García Abril , Juan Hidalgo and Zulema de la Cruz. Alberto was amember of the spanish folk group Mestisay as a keyboard player and toured with them in their South American tour on 1991 ( Argentina, Uruguay and Venezuela ).

He attended various seminars on Composition and recently has been commisioned to investigate the Orleans Archive (Royal family Collection) by the spanish institution el Museo Canario and its Musicology Department . The president of this department is Dr. Lothar Siemens , ex-president of the Spanish Society of Musicology . Recently 3 pieces for flute of the XIX century have been bring back to life by Alberto Martínez. These are very rare pieces by spanish authors Joaquin Gaztambide and Pedro Albeniz .
